California Warriors seek playoff spotby
By
The California Warriors of the Golden Coast Football League (GCFL) play their final home game of the season this Saturday, May 13th at Newark Junior High School, 6201 Lafayette Avenue, Newark, (corner Lafayette and Newark Blvd). Kick-off is slated for 5:00 p.m.
Warriors opponent, the Oakland Vipers, is the team with which they are tied for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Bay Area Conference (NFC) of the GCFL. Both teams sport a record of 1-6, with the Vipers lone victory coming against the Warriors in Oakland, 25-7 on April 8th. A victory by the Warriors would put them in a position to claim a berth in the play-offs with only two games reaming for each team. Because the Warriors would be a lower ranked team if they make the play-offs, they would not host a play-off game.
Admission for the game is $5.00. For an evening of fun, football and fan appreciation, take advantage of this last chance to see American style football in the Tri-City Area until September. |
