Fashion, lunch, and a lovely afternoonby Heidi Leung
Fashion fans will be pleased to know that the Niles Merchants Association will hold its first fashion show and luncheon on April 30 when donors, merchants, and models will bring together a dazzling vintage collection for your viewing pleasure.
For those who would like to purchase vintage items, there will be tables set up with hats, gloves, vintage jewelry, linens, and more.
Chef Joe Lausten will prepare Chinese chicken salad, and a surprise dessert for guests; coffee or tea will be served.
Each place setting will have a complimentary hanky in a bag and tables will be decorated with vintage items or flowers that event-goers will have an opportunity to buy.
Models will wear clothing from Morning Glory Antiques, I Love It as well as items from their own collections.
Proceeds will go toward the restoration of the Niles Merchant Association's train car, a 1920s passenger car purchased by the Association in the 1960s that is used as a meeting place.
For reservations and tickets call (510) 792-8023 or email leszha@aol.com. You can also purchase tickets at Lost in the Attic, Morning Glory Antiques, S&H Antiques, or Niles Edison Theater in downtown Niles through Thursday and some may be available at the door, said event coordinator Marie Dear. Tickets are $25 per person.
