Fremont Cultural Arts Council's 19th Annual Young Artist Showcase will be held at the Gary Soren Smith Center for Fine and Performing Arts at Ohlone College on Sunday, April 30. FCAC feels this program provides a good experience for talented local youth.
Showcase auditions are open to any amateur performer, ensemble, or group in the disciplines of Drama, Dance, Voice and Instrumental. The auditions have been conducted and the winners will perform in the Young Artists Showcase on April 30. Visual segment includes photography, Sculpture and painting (all media). The application deadline for visual arts is April 29. Visual Arts winners and honorable mentions will be displayed at the Showcase. Scholarships of $50 will be awarded to Showcase participants and to winning visual artists. Those interested in participating can do so in two divisions. Junior division is open to artists through 14 years of age as of April 30. Senior division is open to artists 15 through 22 years of age as of April 30.
In the visual categories, one or two pieces of art or photographs can be submitted. Pictures must be framed; photographs may be framed or matted. They must have a wire on the back for hanging. Each item must include the title, artist's name, address, phone number, age and division on the back. Maximum size is 3ft. by 3 ft.
