Scouting for instruments
Scouting for Instruments, a project designed to assist the Fremont Education Foundation obtain musical instruments for band students through a donations program begins March 25. Donation barrels will be placed at each of Fremont's high schools, Allegro Music Store and Elk's Lodge 2121.
Fremont residents are encouraged to dig out their used instruments from the back of their closets and drop them off at their nearest collection site. The program ends on April 7.
Derek Amaral of Boy Scout Troop 143 will spearhead a group of scouts and band students to clean and repair the donated used instruments and then donate them to the Fremont Education Foundation to distribute to music programs at schools throughout Fremont. |
