Cancer center announces new director and managerby Desire Aquino
The Northern California Cancer Center of Fremont (NCCC) is an established, nationally recognized leader dedicated to understanding the causes, prevention and detection of cancer and to improve the quality of life for individuals living with cancer. NCCC has been working with scientists, educators, patients, clinicians, community leaders, and other individuals since 1974, and is an active participant in Stanford University's Comprehensive Cancer Center.
NCCC is pleased to announce the hiring of Emma Lee Twitchell, CFRE in the position of Development Director and Desire Aquino as Communications Manager. The new development team will bring visibility to their work and promote the organization's research projects and community resources.
Emma Lee Twitchell brings over 25 years experience in nonprofit management, marketing and communications to her role. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive and recently relocated from St. Louis, where she worked as a senior development director for Barnes-Jewish Hospital Foundation. Prior to that, Twitchell was an independent fundraising consultant to various nonprofits for 10 years. She also directed fundraising for the Orlando Regional Medical Center and the University of Central Florida.
Desire Aquino is a Bay Area native with over 10 years experience in marketing and communications. Prior to the Communications Manager position with NCCC, Aquino worked for Save The Bay, an environmental nonprofit in Oakland. She has also owned her own retail business and is a freelance writer. Aquino graduated with a B.A. in English from UCLA. |
