New Health Care Clinic Is Officially Open for Business

Local Residents Respond Positively to New Health Care Resource

The results are in. Patients at Nakamura Clinic, Union City, have rave reviews for the new facility and are pleased with the high quality of care that the clinic offers. Washington Hospital's newest primary and urgent care clinic benefiting the residents of Union City began accepting urgent care patients Monday, Jan. 16.

Medical director, Dr. Hoang Trinh, says he couldn't be more pleased with the clinic. "The clinic is great; it's truly amazing," Dr. Trinh says. "The staff loves it, and I can't say enough good things about it."
The clinic is conveniently located at 33077 Alvarado-Niles Road on the corner of Dowe Avenue, and is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. For appointments, call (510) 487-6000.

Urgent care patients are accepted on a walk-in basis and Dr. Trinh says wait times and medical costs are often reduced by visiting the clinic in the case of small emergencies, rather than traveling to the ER.
If you are unsure whether you should go to the ER, the medical staff at Nakamura Clinic, Union City can evaluate your condition and refer you to the ER if necessary, according to Dr. Trinh.

Services at the new clinic include:

  • Treatment for colds, coughs, flu and flu-related symptoms
  • Preventive care, including physical exams
  • Immunizations for children, adults and for travel
  • Minor surgery
  • Minor orthopedic care
  • Treatment of minor injuries, such as cuts and bruises
  • Urgent care
  • Care for job-related illness and injury, as well as other occupational health needs through the Well For Work program
  • On-site X-ray and laboratory services
  • Bilingual physicians available
  • Most insurance plans accepted and billed as a courtesy to patients

The clinic's staff includes Dr. Trinh, as well as the clinic's office manager, friendly receptionists, medical assistant and X-ray technician, who work together to provide patients with the best possible experience.

The clinic provides services for the entire family, including well-child checkups, which many times can identify previously undiagnosed health conditions such as blood disorders, growth problems and learning disorders.

State-of-the-art Facilities
"The patients that I have seen were very impressed by the facility," Dr. Trinh says, noting compliments he received for the clinic's design and waiting area. "Many people have commented that the clinic is close to their homes. I've heard a lot of positive things."

The clinic comprises nine exam rooms, one minor surgery room, a radiology area, a laboratory site, a triage room, a family-friendly waiting area, and an adjacent conference center where Washington Hospital's popular Health &Wellness classes are held.
