Our Lady of Guadalupe School in Fremont acknowledged nine students with a Peace Maker Award on Jan. 13. The winners were chosen and recognized based on responding to situations peacefully, showing forgiveness, accepting other people's differences, doing something to bring out peace, acting as a mediator, trying to solve problems on their own, performing acts of kindness or seeking justice and fairness.

"We are very proud of all the students at Our Lady of Guadalupe, however some students really go above and beyond to demonstrate kind acts, and it's very important to recognize
these students," stated Principal Denise Cree.

Winners were chosen from each grade level and received an award at a special ceremony in front of the school and parents.
