Union City's photo contest, expected to be a yearly event, has announced 12 winning entries. Over 80 submissions were judged in 3 categories - Animals/Nature, Fine Arts, and People - by Diane La Mountaine from the Union City Arts Association, Paddy Iyer from Paddy's cafe and others. Winners will be displayed at Paddy's for a special exhibit Jan. 16 - Feb. 3. There will be a special reception on Friday, Jan. 20 at Paddy's from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The winners placements, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and honorable mention, will be announced at that time.

The winners are: Animals/Nature- Rick Clemens, Rudy Soto, Daniel Rivera, and Alison Burnor; Fine Arts- Krista Howell, Ron Wenzler, Tomas Allen, and William Heffernan; People- David Godines, Michael Liang, Gilbert Orozco, and Farah Bullara.
