January 3, 2006 > CSUEB basketball teams off to great start

Cal State East Bay (CSUEB) Men's Basketball Team is off to a fast start in 2005. They are 8-2 while going 4-0 in CalPac Conference play. This exciting fast break team is averaging almost 100 points per game (97.7) and is one of the top ranked teams in the country. They participate in NAIA (National Association of Inter-Collegiate Athletics) Division II play and lead that division nationally in average points scored per game. You can see them play at home the next three Saturdays with 7:30 p.m. start times. Opponents are Simpson U. Jan. 7, Dominican U. Jan. 14, and CSU Maritime Jan. 21.

Meanwhile, CSUEB Women's basketball team is off to an even better start as they are currently 8-1, and 4-0 in CalPac Conference play. They are also ranked nationally in NAIA Div. II. They may be seen at home the next three Saturdays with the same opponents as the men's team. Their starting time is 5:30 p.m.


Late results:
Both CSUEB teams dropped to 8-3 records after losses over the holiday weekend. They hope to rebound to winning style in games scheduled this weekend.
