The FC Fremont Storm U10 Div 1 girl's team defeated the Newark Rush, 7-0, in the second round of post-season District Cup play. Forward Megan Massone led the Storm attack with her second hat-trick of the year, weaving past the Newark defense to strike twice on unassisted goals within the first ten minutes of play, and again in the second half. Fremont dominated this match adding first half goals from forwards Nicole Stone and Marisa Padilla, to lead 4-0 at halftime. The second half featured more of the same, with Storm's Yvette Cuellar breaking away for a score, Janelle Herrera punching one in off a Hannah Welker shot that rebounded off the Newark goalkeeper, and Megan Massone getting her final goal with about two minutes left.

Fremont Defender Hannah Welker notched two assists in this game, and played strong defensively, as did Shayla Funk, Shelby Brown and Anna Martin. Jocelyn Chiou and Donna Wingfield also turned in fine games at goalkeeper. Newark played hard throughout.
