MTC Transit-Oriented Development Policy
MTC adopted its policy on Transit-Oriented Development on July 27, 2005 as a revision to MTC Resolution 3434. The policy sets a minimum requirement, which varies by transit mode, for funding new transit projects. For commuter rail, the policy requires an average of 2200 housing units, either built on or planned through local zoning, within one-half mile radius of stations on a new project.
