The Mission Peak Boy Scouting District will present the "Good Scouter" award to local businessman, Alan Hyman, at a special recognition breakfast on May 18th at the Fremont Marriott.
Alan Hyman has been an active member of the community, currently serving as Vice Chairman of Fremont Bank. He is a Vietnam-era military veteran and Stanford University graduate. In addition to his work at Fremont Bank, he is a member of the City of Fremont's Economic Development Advisory Committee, a member of the Redevelopment Committee for the City of Fremont, a member of the Holy Names College Board of Trustees, and a Board Member of the Fremont Bank Foundation.
District Chairman Garrett Yee adds, "In addition to all that he has done for local businesses and the community, he is a long-time director of the San Francisco Council of the Boy Scouts of America. In fact, Alan served as District Chairman of the Mission Peak District, which represents Fremont, Newark, and Union City. He is the perfect recipient for this year's award. We are excited to have several local leaders that will be part of the program, including Alameda County Superior Court Judge Ronald Sabraw and Fremont City Councilmember Steve Cho".
"The Mission Peak District is very excited to be able to partner with our local business community members for the betterment of all our youth through scouting. This is our first ever Friends of Scouting Community Recognition Breakfast, and we are proud to honor Alan Hyman," says Event Coordinator Jan Giovannini-Hill.
The event is scheduled from 7-9 am, Tuesday, May 18th. Anyone interested in attending can contact Scott Evans, District Director, at (510) 577-3000 x127.
