Food donations needed for Thanksgiving Day
The League of Volunteers is planning to serve approximately 4,000 people on Thanksgiving Day at the Newark Pavilion and they need your help. Meals will also be delivered to homebound community members in Fremont, Newark, Union City, Hayward, San Leandro, San Lorenzo and Castro Valley. Following are items that LOV is experiencing a shortage of, yet will require in order to make this a happy holiday for those in need or who may be alone on Thanksgiving Day.
Needed items:
Turkeys
Hams
Pre-baked pies
Instant potato mix
Stove top dressing mix
Cranberry sauce
Canned green beans
Divided dinner plates
Dessert plate
Sandwich bags
Plastic knives, forks, spoons
Styrofoam take-home meal trays
Oval aluminum roasting pans
Butter
Canned yams

LOV's CommunityServiceCenter, located at 36120 Ruschin Drive, Newark (at the former RuschinSchool), will receive donations Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Or you can call for pick up.
