More team awards for Bay Aerials Gymnastics

The Bay Aerials Gymnastics compulsory teams competed at meets on two consecutive weekends in early October. The first competition was at Airborne Gymnastics in Santa Clara and both the Level 5 and Level 6 teams took home the first place team awards.
In the Level 5 competition, Bay Aerials swept the top three all-around awards in the child division. Ariana Harger placed 1st, Sylvie Seilnacht won 2nd, and her twin, Sofie, placed 3rd in the all-arounds. In the individual events, Ariana was 1st in all four events, Sylvie placed 2nd on bars and floor, and Sofie placed 2nd on beam and 3rd on bars and floor. In the junior age group Katy DeGuzman placed first on three events, vault, beam and floor and won the all-arounds. Rounding up the Level 5s were three gymnasts in the senior division. Katherine Sieverding won the beam event and placed 3rd all-around, Hannah Lachman placed 3rd on floor and took 4th in the all-arounds, and Keri Kodama took 1st on floor and finished 5th in the all-arounds.
The Level 6s once again proved their superiority at this competition. In the child age division, Isabelle Castillo placed 1st on vault and bars and won 1st place in the all-arounds. Lacy Dagen took 1st in the floor event and placed 2nd on bars finishing 3rd in the all-arounds. Kianna Kagawa, in the junior division, placed 1st on vault and 3rd on bars and floor. She finished 2nd in the all-arounds. Her teammates Justine Chinn took the bars event and gave her 5th in the all-arounds, and Alana Turangan had a 4th place finish on vault. The senior division put on strong performances as well. Rachel DeGuzman placed 1st on vault, bars and floor and won the all-arounds. Allison D'Ambrosio won beam and took 2nd all-around and Andrea Suarez took the 3rd place on floor.
The following weekend, Bay Aerials hosted a meet at the Burnham Pavilion at Stanford University. The Level 5s took home a 3rd place team award and the Level 6s won the 1st place team award.
In the Level 5 competition, the younger group put on a strong performance. Sylvie Seilnacht took 2nd on beam and tied for 3rd on floor awarding her the 2nd place in the all-arounds. Sofie Seilnacht's beautiful floor routine won her the event. In the middle age division, Ariana Harger once again took the 1st place all-arounds by winning the vault and floor events. In the older group, Katherine Sieverding showed her dominance on vault by finishing 1st. Katy DeGuzman tied for 5th on floor, Keri Kodama placed 7th and Hannah Lachman's beam routine awarded her 8th place in the event.
The Level 6s did not disappoint at this competition. In the younger group, Lacy Dagen placed 1st on beam and floor and won her very first all-around title. Isabelle Castillo placed 1st on bars, tied for 2nd on floor and placed 3rd on vault. She finished 2nd in the all-arounds. In the middle group, Kianna Kagawa continued her success by finishing 1st on vault and floor, and 1st in the all-arounds. Justine Chinn had solid performances on beam and floor, placing 4th and 3rd respectively. In the older age division, Rachel DeGuzman won the vault and bars events, and placed 1st in the all-arounds. Allison D'Ambrosio took 1st on floor, 3rd on bars and beam, and won 2nd place in the all-arounds. Andrea Suarez had a 4th place finish on floor and took 6th in the all-arounds.
The Bay Aerials teams will compete at one more invitational before they move on to the Zone and State Championships.
