Angels-A-Building
It will take a lot of money to rebuild St. Joseph's Catholic Church and associated structures in the Mission San Jose district of Fremont. So far, internal fundraising has begun the process to raise $15 million, but a committee has formed to create a social event to invite the community-at-large to help. Louis Smith, who in the past has created memorable decorated trees for Fremont Symphony Orchestra's Magical Forest, has volunteered his expertise, selecting and decorating over 140 holiday figures and arrangements for sale at incredibly low prices.
The price of admission to either Friday evening's (November 4th from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.) Champagne and Hors d'oeuvres gathering or Saturday's Brunch (November 5th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) will be more than offset by the food service and bargains at this special holiday store. Menus, prepared by renowned Head Chef Attila Csikesz of the San Jose Country Club, are filled with plenty of mouth-watering entrees. Besides superb food and great prices - from $25 - $250 - for Fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas arrangements as well as additional gift items, Smith promises outstanding entertainment too.
Two complete place settings of dishes, glassware and silverware for eight - Tuscany and Christmas themes - plus a Chinese tea service for eight brought in from China will be won by lucky raffle ticket holders. "This is a chance for people to have a great time and enjoy the starting the holiday season."
All proceeds will benefit the building fund for the Church.
All are urged to call early for reservations since this event will reach capacity quickly. For more information and reservations, call Louis Smith at (510) 656-2196.
