Fremont Lightning vs. Pleasanton Rage 2-0

The FC Fremont Lightning, Girls U13 Division I team defeated their competition beating the ACC Mavericks 2-1 on Saturday, Oct. 15. The first goal came early in the second half when Paige Diamond found the net with an assist from Debra Blalock and Andrea Bonilla. The midfield led by Lauren Floro, Janell Koide, Debra Blalock, and Andrea Bonilla, continued to control the game which ultimately led to the second goal scored by Elisa Chen on a cross from Paige Diamond and assisted by Natalie Sanchez. The Mavericks scored on a corner kick late in the second half, but where not able to come back.

The Fremont Lightning also defeated the Pleasanton Rage 2-0 on Sunday, Oct. 16. The Lightning controlled the game with the first goal being scored by Paige Diamond assisted by Janell Koide and Lindsay Cole at the end of the first half. In the second half, Aubrey Lalumandiere assisted Paige Diamond on the second goal of the game. The Lightning defense led by Natalie Sanchez, Aubrey Lalumandiere, Shannon Genberg, Lica Monobe, and Alaina Gold, along with excellent goalie work by Megan Kufeld, held the Rage to a shutout. Other players contributing to the wins were Lauren Jauco and Alex Drachnik.
