Furry Friends Rescue Tail Waggin Walkby Sonya Sachdeva
With a big heart, willing dedication and open arms, the Furry Friends Rescue has saved over 3,600 animals since they first began in 1998. Initially, Furry Friends Rescue started their program to find safe, loving and permanent homes for cats and dogs. However, over the years, they have grown and broadened their mission by providing veterinary needs, examinations, immunization and neutering to rescued animals. Furry Friends have a focus, that is, they want to create an alliance with the community to make them aware of stray cats and dogs in need of a place to stay, as well as forming partnerships with local organizations, veterinarians and shelters.
Furry Friends Rescue is holding a 3k walk at Lake Elizabeth on October 22. The "Tail Waggin" walk includes a fee of $30 which should be received by October 18. Registration begins, on October 22, at 9 a.m. and the official walk begins at 10.a.m. This is Furry Friends Rescue's third annual walk to fund raise for abandoned dogs and cats across Northern California animal shelters. Other festive activities includes a pumpkin carving contest, raffles, silent auctions, tick for treat dog contest, and a dog costume contest. If you would like to make donations, be part of this function or just want to check out what Furry Friends is doing locally please visit www.furryfriendsrescue.org.
