Magic show to raise funds for hurricane victims
by Linda Stone
What started out as an idea to raise funds for church programs, has ended up switching paths to focus on hurricane victims - with a touch of magic.
The Fremont Christian Life Center has decided to forgo raising funds for their music and youth programs. Instead, they will donate proceeds from a scheduled Magic Show to hurricane relief efforts.
The show will feature Ryan Adler, a graduate of James Logan High School and Cal State East Bay who started producing his own shows at the age of 16. Adler's credits include working with Rick Thomas, famous Las Vegas stage magical entertainer. The show will include illusions rarely seen except in major Vegas-style performances.
"This is really important to me because this is a great organization - they do a lot," said Adler who performs for corporations, military families, schools and private parties. He added, "If people are interested in seeing a great show, they will also be able to help those who are less fortunate at the same time."
In addition to the magic show, this family event will feature a silent auction, cake walk, bake sale and balloon animals.
