Letter to the Editor
Like other residents, I have been concerned about potential waste and inefficiency of city government in Fremont and was not happy about the tax measure that appeared on the ballot last November.
However, since then I have been impressed by the city's efforts to really reach out to the community to explain what the needs are, what has already been done, and also look to us for input on our priorities as residents.
We face some real fiscal needs as a community with the economy the way it is and the state continuing to balance the budget on the backs of cities throughout California. I am not sure what the answer is, but I am more and more convinced that the city has been using our precious dollars responsibly. We have to ask ourselves, "What do we want our city to be?"
