Bond Oversight Committee updateJudy Molander
Have you seen the construction at the school site in your neighborhood this summer? Every school in Fremont, except Mattos which was scheduled to close when the 2002 Health and Safety Bond was passed, has had major work completed or work in progress. The renovation at TAK Stadium is nearly completed. American, Irvington, Kennedy, and Washington High Schools are in progress. Many Centerville Junior High School projects are completed, Hopkins is scheduled for completion January, 2006. Horner and Thornton are in early stages. Chadbourne, Durham, and Mission Valley have new multi use rooms. Many elementary schools have had playground structures replaced and now some are having traffic separation projects nearing completion with more scheduled for summer 2006.
The Citizens Bond Oversight Committee is happy to report many bids are coming in below estimates and that independent auditors have verified that projects are being properly funded. For a complete status report of all projects in pre-design, design, construction, and completed stages and the financial systems report, the public is invited to attend the Fremont CBOC (Fremont Unified School District Citizens 2002 Bond Oversight Committee) meeting on Wednesday, September 7, 2005, at the Fremont Unified School District Office, 4210 Technology Drive, Fremont, from 7 to 9 PM. Public input is always on the agenda. For additional information about the meeting or projects, please call 510-498-2424.
