In celebration of Newark's 50th anniversary, the Newark Days committee is asking the community to get involved in naming its newest mascot. Arknew, the city's kangaroo mascot, has had a "baby" who will join in the festivities at the Newark Days Celebration on Sept. 22.

Entries are due by Sept. 12 and should include your name, address and phone number and sent to Newark Days Celebration, P.O. Box 608, Newark, 94560.

Winners will receive a stuffed kangaroo and an all-day pass to the Newark Days carnival.
