Mira Geroy has been named the new manager of the Union City Library, one of the Alameda County libraries. Geroy has been promoted from her current position as Jails Library Services Manager, a post she has held since September 2002.
Prior to joining the Alameda County Library, she was employed in Taos, New Mexico, where she was Director of Public Services for the Taos Public Library and then director of the high school library. Other experience includes Director of Children's Services at Harrison Memorial Library in Carmel. Her skill in working with children, adults and teens will be a great asset to the Union City Library. Geroy's appointment is effective July 5. She replaces Linda Harris, who has been promoted to Facilities Coordinator for the library system. Harris was the manager of the Union City Library for 20 years and has worked for Alameda County Library for 29 years.
