Popular DJ to officiate duck race
Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Fremont, the 11th Annual Tri Cities' Ducks For Bucks Benefit Race will be cause for a big "Quack" on Saturday, April 30 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Lake Elizabeth. Katie Mason, popular on-air personality and recipient of the American Women in Radio & Television award for "Best Midday Host" in 2001 and "Best Radio DJ, Music Station" in 2004, will preside as Race Marshal. Ms. Mason currently is the 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. host of 95.7 The Bear radio station.
Join Katie and hundreds of fellow duck enthusiasts at the boat dock. Festivities will include food, beverages, a family carnival and a pie-eating contest. 95.7 The Bear will broadcast live on site. Splashdown for the race will be at 1 p.m. Duck adoptions with a chance to win including a new Chevrolet Colbalt, a trip for 4 to Disneyland, a Mexican Riviera cruise, cash and a lot more can be made until 12:50 p.m. the day of the race. All proceeds go to local Tri-City schools and charities.
