The Fremont TABU and Concord Free Agents U-12 Traveling baseball teams have joined forces as one. When playing in the USSSA tournaments the team will be known as the Free Agents and in all other tournaments they will be TABU. On Feb. 5 and 6, they played in a USSSA State championship qualifier tournament in Fremont.
The Free Agents took first. By Beating East Bay Force in the Championship Game 6 - 0. Chris Flexen pitched a two hit shut out. Flexen had nine strikeouts, walked two batters in six innings. Jarrett Costa had two hits and scored twice. Chaz Meadows had two hits scored once, and had an RBI.
In the first game of the tournament Free Agents beat Lamorinda 12 - 2. Meadows got the win in this game. Zach Yawornisky had two doubles, scored twice and had two RBIs. Blade Kurilich had a single and a double, brought in three runs and scored three. In the second game against Club All Star (Stockton), Free Agents loss 5 - 0. Kevin Drago took the loss.
In the third game Free Agents played East Bay Force beating them 4 - 1. AJ Vanegas pitched a complete game (six innings) for the win. He had nine strikeouts, allowed one walk and four hits. Costa had a single and a triple, Kurilich had three singles. By beating the Force it put the Free Agents at the number two seed. They will play the Force again in the championship game. The Force was the number one seed. |
