Bear Country
A trip to Heritage Bank on Stevenson Boulevard in Fremont can yield more than deposits or withdrawal these days. Vying for seating and peeking out from nooks and crannies throughout the bank, Teddy Bears of every shape and related soft, lovable cousins share the same destination of loving and caring children.
Grouped in one area, purple bears look for a home and promise funding for SAVE (Shelter Against Violent Environments) when they are purchased. A generous donation assures that all funds collected will go directly to SAVE.
A plethora of sizes, colors and types of Teddy Bears also reside at the bank. These beauties are the result of donations to The One Bear Project. The ongoing mission is to collect new bears and other stuffed animals for distribution to charitable organizations who will find good homes and children in need of a furry, soft friend for comfort.
For those who would like to support SAVE and help The One Bear Project simultaneously, a $16 purchase of the SAVE bear can then be donated to The One Bear Project!
To donate a bear or support SAVE while providing a home for a bear, you can drop by Heritage Bank, 3077 Stevenson Blvd. (near the intersection of Stevenson and Paseo Padre Parkway) or:
SAVE: "Bears Not Bruises" 39155 Liberty Street, #C310, Fremont (510) 574-2250 or (510) 574-2266 www.save-dv.org
