Espada Court Lights up for the Holidaysby Florence Ion
For the past two decades, both Espada Ct. and Zacate Pl. in Central Fremont, near Mission Blvd., have adorned their houses with holiday lights in hopes of bringing some Christmas cheer. These Victorian-style homes are framed with lights and offer figurines and cutouts that will delight the entire family.
Every holiday season, the light displays are up and ready the day after Thanksgiving. After a roundabout through each court, ending at Espada Ct., there is a mailbox that will accept letters to Santa (yes they really do get sent!), and a donation box for Sister John Marie's Pantry. Visitors can also leave canned foods in Santa's sleigh. The displays will be up until the day after Christmas, so hurry over for this endearing display!
Directions: From Northbound Paseo Padre Parkway, turn right onto Walnut Avenue. When Walnut crosses Mission Boulevard, it becomes Morrison Canyon. Turn right on Zacate Avenue, then right on Espada Court or Zacate Place. |
