38643 Glencoe Drive
There are well-known addresses throughout the Tri-Cities that feature a festival of lights and character cutouts to celebrate the Christmas Holiday season. For the past nine years, an address on the "do not miss" list has been the home of Richard Gonzales who, with his friend, Steve McCown have decorated the home with a growing array of lights and animated characters including Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, Reindeer, Panda Bears and much more.
Each year the collection grows and as people come by to marvel at the yuletide gathering, at times Richard's wife Karen, daughter Selina, son Chris and granddaughter Mariam can be found handing out candy canes. It takes Richard and Steve about three to four days to set up the display and when asked if, after nine years, the set is complete, a twinkle worthy of the jolly old man in the red suit can be seen in Richard's eyes. The answer is obvious and visitors can rejoice and look forward to something new next year. In the meantime, a visit to this house between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. any evening until Jan. 1 will be worth the trip for everyone in the family.
