Citizens of the Year
On October 29, the Ohlone College Foundation will host its Seventeenth Annual "Citizen of the Year" Benefit Luncheon in honor of Don and Babs Amsbaugh. The luncheon, held at the Hilton Newark/Fremont, celebrates and honors outstanding community leaders for their dedication and service.
The Tri-Cities have had no greater champions for giving and the spirit of volunteerism than Don and Babs Amsbaugh. They have donated endless hours to help others, serving as campaign volunteers for the city of Fremont and the Washington Hospital, and for city, county and state offices. They have also worked on foundation boards for the Hospital and Ohlone College, participating as members of the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, and being actively involved in service organizations such as Rotary. In fact, Don has had perfect attendance (so far!) with Niles Rotary since he joined in 1960. The Amsbaughs are noted for putting the needs of others before their own. They truly embody the attributes of "Citizen of the Year".
The luncheon, beginning at noon, will be held on October 29 at the Hilton Newark/Fremont located at 39900 Balentine Drive in Newark. The cost is $75 per person or $750 per table of 10.
