September 24, 2004 > Visual Rhythm Takes the Stage at Ohlone

The Smith Center season opener features Visual Rhythm, a professional, young theatrical dance company with an innovative approach to jazz dance, Visual Rhythm lights up the stage with their electrifying performance with art forms that are edgy and relevant to a global, youthful, urban culture. Performing to music ranging from Herbie Hancock to Nelly Furtado to Linkin Park, they cover a variety of dance styles including hip-hop, jazz, alternative and rock.

Dancing together steadily since 1995, this troupe performed at the gala opening of the Smith Center nine years ago and has provided sold-out performances of their annual musical dance dramas at the Montgomery Theatre in San Jose for the past five years. They return to the Smith Center for a repeat performance for our 9th Annual Season Opener.
