The ship is about to sail! Plans are well underway for this year's Seniors' Night Out, "Cruisin' the South Seas". This popular event is aimed at those seniors who rarely have an opportunity for "an evening on the town". The night's festivities include dinner, entertainment and lots of door prizes. The Canyon Band will kick off this gala event with lively music that will put guests in a party mood. Everyone will be amazed by Na Mamo O Ke Anuenue A Kamakani, a talented group of Hawaiian and Tahitian dancers that includes performers of all ages. They have won many awards both locally and in Hawaii. The colorful costumes and enthusiastic presentation of these dancers are sure to receive a warm, tropical response from the audience.

Seniors' Night Out has become a Tri-City tradition. Now in its 11th year, it is well known for its fun, entertainment and most importantly, an opportunity to meet and enjoy good conversation with an older person. It is the primary fundraising event for the Tri-City Elders Coalition (TCEC), an organization that focuses on the needs of the older population of Fremont, Newark and Union City.

The 11th Annual Seniors' Night Out, "Cruisin' the South Seas" will be held on Wednesday, September 29th, 2004 at the Newark-Fremont Hilton Hotel. The Seniors' Night Out committee is actively seeking the names of frail seniors to invite to this wonderful event. You are encouraged to contact the committee with the names of these special seniors because space is limited and reservations are required.

The committee is currently seeking sponsorship, individual or corporate and escorts for these seniors. To encourage participation by a wide range of businesses, organizations, and individuals, we welcome sponsors at several levels. As an individual escort, you may either bring someone you know or ask the committee to pair you with a senior. Last year we hosted approximately 200 seniors from the Tri-City area.
