TABU placed 4th in the Super Series Summer Nationals in St. Louis, Mo. In this tournament, 20 teams from nine different states competed. TABU is a U-11 national team from Fremont and was the only California team represented at the tournament. TABU lost all three games in "pool" play and was seeded 18th.
Bracket play started and TABU was scheduled to play the 15th seed Indiana Express from Clear Creek. They beat the Express 6 to 3. Flexen pitched 5 innings for the win. He allowed four hits and two earned runs. Vanegas came in the sixth inning for the save. Vanegas went 3 for 3 two singles and a double, scored 2 runs. Bell had two singles and two RBI's, Nathan Little had a single with a RBI, Smith had a triple.
Later that day, TABU beat the number 2 seed Missouri Rebels from St. Peters, Mo., 6 to 4. Vanegas got the win in this game. Josh Tinnon came in the sixth inning for the save. Costa hit a 230 foot three run homer in the 3rd inning, Andre Davis had a single and a ground rule double, Flexen had two singles and a stolen base.
The next day they face the number 7 seed Texas lightning from LaPorte, Tx. and beat them 8 to 6. Miranda collected the win. TABU scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead and the win. In the fifth, Bell reached first on a fielder's choice with two outs, Miranda singled and went to second on the throw to home, Bell was safe at home. Miranda then stole third. Flexen reached second on a ground rule double, Miranda scores. Morgan walks. Both Morgan and Flexen advanced on a base on a pass ball. Tinnon singles and scores Flexen. Artero and Davis had two singles.
TABU lost to the number 3 seeded team Friendswood Falcons from Friendswood, Tx. 6 to 3.
Now in the loser's bracket, TABU faced the Rebels again. TABU beat the Rebels for the second time 3 to 0. Vanegas pitched a complete shutout game. He allowed only three hits.
TABU lost to the number 1 seeded team, Texas Sports of Mesquite Tx. 10 to 1.
