The Circus is Coming to Town!
It is called "WOW" - World's of Wonder - and Circus Chimera promises plenty of "oohs and ahhs" when it arrives in the Tri-Cities to entertain audiences of all ages and help support two community organizations. Circus Chimera promises all the thrills and amazement of a new tradition in circus entertainment.
Under the "Big Top," without animal acts (although you will see the "world's smallest elephant"), some might speculate that this cannot be a true circus. However, circus spirit reigns supreme as clowns cavort and original musical scores and choreography accompany amazing feats of skill. Circus Chimera has enthralled audiences in the past and this visit to the Tri-Cities promises to be no less spectacular. The mythical Chimera, a beast composed of many different and distinct parts, is a fitting name for the circus that combines a wide variety of skills and acts under one tent, in one ring and with an audience whose gasps of awe and sighs of delight are as one.
Circus Chimera is not your typical circus. The art of circus is celebrated with an international flavor. Aerial artists swing above, acrobats tumble and twirl, and a juggler controls balls in the air with his hands while dancing flamenco with his feet. All senses are treated to gourmet feast of entertainment. The magic of Circus Chimera will infuse audiences of all ages with wonder and delight.
League of Volunteers will host Circus Chimera July 19th through 22nd at the Newpark Mall Parking Lot (Monday, 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 4:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.) and the Ohlone Humane Society Wildlife Rehabilitation Center will welcome the circus to Fremont on July 23rd, 24th and 25th. A portion of the proceeds will go to each sponsoring organization when they act as host.
The OHS performances will be held at Kennedy High School (currently under city review). There will be an evening performance at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and three performances on Saturday and Sunday (1:30 p.m.; 4:30 p.m.; 7:30 p.m.) Tickets are $10 each - however, discount coupons are available while supplies last.
