A Special Day - A Special Breakfast with Local Firefighters
The Fourth of July is a day of parades, barbeques and family fun. To start this special day, Newark Firefighters Association Local 1483 invites the Tri-City Community to share a breakfast table with them and enjoy pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee. Firefighter Charlie Verhoeven says that last year almost 1000 breakfasts were served and $4,000 was donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). This year, proceeds will again be donated to MDA.
Everyone knows that firefighters know their way around a fire. When you know fire, cooking comes naturally! For a donation of $5, this year's breakfast chefs promise to cook the best pancakes found on the planet and, along with the morning gourmet treat, they will demonstrate use of the "Jaws of Life," ladder work, display antique fire apparatus and entertain kids with face painting and arts & crafts. Raffle tickets and great prizes will also start the fourth with a bang!
As an added bonus, along with Starbucks coffee, IHOP pancakes, firefighter demonstrations and kids activities, "Chocolate Chip Charley" will come by to have his picture taken with the kids. Don't miss this unique way to start the Fourth. A hearty breakfast with local firefighters will begin the day right and benefit a worthy cause as well. See you there! |
