Rotary Serves Chili at Saddle Rack on June 6th
On Sunday, June 6, the Rotary Clubs of the Tri-City area will sponsor its 13th Annual Chili Cook Off, a fund-raiser benefiting the Rotary Free Clinic, Washington on Wheels and the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation.
Those with a hankerin' for the smell of chili simmerin' and the sounds of country music with dancing thrown in to the mix, need to mark this event on their calendars. Taste award-winning chili from the experts - from fire-breathing hot to smooth and mild. The cooks are firing up their burners and preparing the ingredients for you. Bring your appetite and prepare for a fun afternoon. Vote for the People's Choice and see if the Fremont Fire Department can defend its title.
Festivities will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. at the Saddle Rack and will feature activities for the whole family. The Cook Off starts at 11 a.m. with the People's Choice Chili category and is followed by three categories sponsored by the International Chili Society. Beginning at 12 p.m. is the ICS Green Chili competition. At 1 p.m. you can catch the ICS's Salsa competition and at 2 p.m. is the popular ICS Red Chili judging.
