Fremont Chamber of Commerce Now Accepting Band Audition Tapes for Festival of the Arts
The Fremont Chamber of Commerce is accepting audition tapes from community bands in the Tri-Cities or Bay Area to perform on the Community Stage during the annual Festival of the Arts Saturday, July 31 and Sunday, August 1, 2004.
Up to 15 bands will be chosen by the Festival of the Arts Committee to perform at the Festival on the Community Stage. "This is a great opportunity for community members to be a part of the festival and show-off their musical talents," said Cindy Bonior, Chamber CEO and Festival Director.
To qualify, band member(s) need to reside in the Tri-Cities or Bay Area. Audition tapes must be received no later than Monday, May 17, 2004 in order to be considered. Tapes may be sent to Cindy Bonior, Fremont Chamber of Commerce, 39488 Stevenson Place, #100, Fremont, CA 94539. Bands will be notified by May 31st of their participation, and a listing of the bands will be posted to the Festival web site at www.fremontfestival.net. Bands will be chosen based upon their broad appeal to audiences and appropriateness to the Festival and Festival audience.
Produced by the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the Fremont Festival of the Arts draws nearly 400,000 festival-goers over the two-day event and has earned the prestigious title of the largest free street-festival in California. The Festival features nearly 700 quality artisans, continuous music on three stages, Kid Zone with games and activities, Gourmet Marketplace offering gourmet specialties for the discriminating cook, and new for 2004, is the Northern California Regional Firefighter Combat Challenge, a competition featuring an intense, spirited competition in which firefighters race against the clock and each other on an obstacle course dominated by a five story tower. |
