Indo-American Charity BallAn Evening of Dinner, Dance and Entertainment to Help Support the Tri-City Homeless Coalition by Drs. Rakesh and Ranjana Sharma
We are helping the Tri-City homeless Coalition to raised funds to build BridgeWay East, a transitional housing development project in Fremont. The current BridgeWay East facility in Fremont offers affordable housing for low-income families and individuals. Because the housing need for families in transition far exceeds the supply, the project goal is to build 18 new housing units.
BridgeWay East will also incorporate a network of supportive services to enable residents to maintain stable, independent, and healthy lives. Services for both individuals and families will include individual case management, child care assistance, parenting classes, recoveries, self-help groups, job counseling and training, and financial management. There will be tutoring for at-risk children and teens living at BridgeWay East, and other after school educational and recreational programs will be also available
BridgeWay East will be the only affordable housing development in the Southern Alameda to combine housing and on site support services, a proven, effective mean of re-integrating homeless families into the community. Construction of BridgeWay East is scheduled to begin in April, 2004.
On behalf of our organization, we would like to invite you to participate in, and become an event sponsor. We estimate 300 guests comprised of local leaders, physicians, businesses and community at-large will attend the event. Tax-deductible donation may be made payable to "Indo-American Charity Ball."
