City of Fremont Honored
The City of Fremont Redevelopment Agency has been awarded the California Redevelopment Association (CRA) Award of Excellence for its successful redevelopment project-Adams Avenue Homes & Street Improvements. This project is the winner in the category of Single-Family Residential Development and is one of 12 projects honored this year for major contributions to California communities.
Adams Avenue Homes is a 17-unit affordable housing development for first-time homebuyers. Adams Avenue Homes were completed in August 2002 and is part of the City of Fremont's neighborhood revitalization strategy for the Irvington Redevelopment Project Area.
Eden Housing, a non-profit residential developer, joint ventured with East Bay Habitat for Humanity to develop Adams Avenue Homes. The two-story bungalow-style homes consist of detached and semi-attached units that cluster around courtyards. All the homes have three bedrooms, two baths and a two-car garage.
Adams Avenue has a new street, utilities have been placed underground, and pedestrians enjoy the new sidewalks. |
